A Fragrance House
Fragrance is memory. We bottle the memories of India.
Attar — literally “essence” — has been the fragrance of India for over a thousand years. Kings were crowned with it, brides were anointed with it, and monsoon rains were greeted with it. StarBayt exists to make sure that tradition never fades.
We work in small batches, the way the craft demands. Our signature Mitti Attar is still distilled from the clay of rain-soaked fields; our Ruh Gulab still begins with rose petals picked before dawn.
The Journey
From idea to house in four chapters

The question
Why should the world’s most beautiful Indian fragrances — the saffron of Kashmir, the jasmine of the south, the sandalwood of Mysore — be hidden away in family attar shops? That question became the seed of StarBayt.

The craft
We sought out master perfumers and deg-bhatta stills in Kannauj — the centuries-old home of Indian attar — and learned their methods. Hydro-distillation into sandalwood, patience over shortcuts, scent over spectacle.

The house
In 2024, StarBayt Private Limited opened its doors in Mumbai. We began bottling our first attars and perfumes, pairing tradition with modern refinement so a new generation could wear them every day.
